HOKE Sampling Cylinders - Sourcing & Technical Questions, Answered

  • The maximum operating pressure is 1,800 psig (124 bar) for standard spun and formed cylinders. Formed cylinders rated up to 5,000 psig are available as a special order from the factory.

  • HOKE Sampling Cylinders cover capacities from 10 mL up to 3.5 gallons. The spun DOT range starts at 75 cc and tops out at 3,785 cc (1 gallon).

  • Spun cylinders are made in 316 Stainless Steel only, in fixed DOT 3E and 3A sizes from 75 cc to 1 gallon. Formed cylinders are drawn from one-piece tubing in 316 SS, MONEL, or Hastelloy, in single or double-ended configurations from 10 mL to 3.5 gallons, with higher pressure options on request.

  • Standard-formed cylinders ship with internal sandblasting. Optional treatments include FEP lining (suffix TL), Sulfinert coating (suffix SLF), Silcosteel, and Restek, available on most sizes on request.

  • The 1700 Series handles 1/4" and 3/8" NPT cylinders at up to 6,000 psig. The 2400 Series fits 1/2" cylinders at 5,000 psig and accepts an integral rupture disc or spring relief. The 3700/3800 Series covers 1/8" through 3/8" NPT cylinders at 5,000 psig with orifices from 0.060" to 0.219".

  • Yes, dip tubes ship in 10%, 20%, and 30% outages, giving filled capacities of 90%, 80%, and 70%, respectively. The dip tube must be welded to a fitting, valve, or relief device, and the cylinder model or capacity needs to be specified on the order.

  • Yes. Formed cylinders are available in alloys beyond 316 SS, MONEL, and Hastelloy on factory quotation, and pressure ratings above 1,800 psig (up to 5,000 psig) ship as special orders. ASME-tested cylinders are also available when the maximum pressure and temperature are specified at the time of enquiry.
