HOKE Bleed Valves: Sourcing and Technical Questions

  • A HOKE 6600 Series Bleed Valve is used for venting trapped pressure and purging liquids or gases from instrument manifolds, gauge valves, and pressure take-off lines. The valve releases media in a controlled way before instrument removal or system shutdown.

  • The difference is that the 6610 is a straight NPT bleed, the 6631 is a directed bleed with a 0.125" orifice built for gauge valves, the 6680 is a Tee Gyrolok configuration, the 6660 is an Elbow Gyrolok, and the 6670 is a Union Gyrolok. The NPT models suit threaded process ports; the Gyrolok models suit tube line installations.

  • The maximum operating pressure of HOKE 6600 Series Bleed Valves is 6,000 psig (414 bar) at 70°F (21°C) for the 6610, 6660, 6670, and 6680. The 6631 Directed Bleed Valve is rated to 5,000 psig (345 bar) at 70°F (21°C).

  • The 6600 Series is made from 316 stainless steel across all five configurations (6610, 6631, 6680, 6660, and 6670).

  • Priminox Overseas can supply NPT inlets in 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" on the 6610 (and 1/4" and 1/2" on the 6631), and Gyrolok tube ends in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" on the 6680 and 6670 (the 6660 is offered in 1/4" Gyrolok only).

  • The orifice size of the 6631 Directed Bleed Valve is 0.125 inch (3.20 mm), fixed across both the 6631H4Y and 6631H84Y part numbers.

  • The average operating torque is 40 in·lb across the 6610, 6660, 6670, and 6680.
