The construction suits gas analysis, hazardous media, high vacuum, and high purity service where fugitive emissions and atmospheric ingress are unacceptable.

  • The maximum operating pressure of HOKE Packless Valves is 3,600 psig (248 bar) on the DV1 Series with the large pneumatic actuator. The 4200 Series carries 2,000 psi at 600°F on hard seats, the 4100 Series reaches 1,000 psig in 316 stainless steel and 600 psig in brass, the 4500 and 4600 reach 300 psig, and the 0300 Series runs 200 psig on the 0361 (NC) or 350 psig on the 0371 (NO).

  • The operating temperature range is -320°F to +1200°F (-195°C to +632°C) on the 4200 Series at the widest end. The 4100 Series 316 stainless steel and 4600 welded both reach +600°F, the DV1 with PEEK seat reaches +400°F, the 4100 brass holds -40°F to +300°F on hard seats, the 0300 holds -40°F to +250°F, and the 4500 holds -20°F to +250°F.

  • The body materials available are 316 stainless steel, 316L stainless steel, brass, MONEL, and HASTELLOY C-276. The 0300 and 4200 are 316 stainless steel only, the 4100 covers 316 stainless steel and brass, the 4500 covers brass and MONEL, the 4600 is MONEL, and the DV1 covers 316L stainless steel, MONEL, and HASTELLOY C-276.

  • The difference is that the bellows series (0300, 4100, 4200, 4500) seal the stem with a metal bellows welded or silver-soldered into the body, while the diaphragm series (4600 and DV1) seal with a flexing metal diaphragm clamped between body and bonnet. The 4200 bellows valve handles the widest temperature window (-320°F to +1200°F) and the DV1 diaphragm valve handles the highest pressure (3,600 psig) and the lowest internal volume (0.16 cc).

  • Yes, the 4200 Series handles cryogenic service down to -320°F (-195°C) and high vacuum to 10-5 Torr. The 4500 Series and the gasketed 4600 also reach 10-5 Torr vacuum, and the DV1 Series operates from 50 torr vacuum upward.
