These are double block and bleed (DBB) valves that let operators inject chemicals or draw samples directly from a live process line while keeping the pipeline under double isolation. The range covers single-piece forged flange-mounted bodies (D, N, F and A types) and compact barstock-bodied bodies (L, T, IN and ID types). We stock the full configuration list including D, N, F, A, L, T, IN and ID types in carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, Monel 400 and Ferralium 255 bodies. Ball bores cover 10mm, 14mm and 20mm with flange classes from 150lb up to 2500lb on ANSI B16.5 dimensions. Sampling DBB valves carry a custom-machined sample probe that extends from the flange into the process stream for direct withdrawal of media at full system pressure. Where the line cannot accept a projection, we supply the same valve without a probe.

  • Body Construction: Drop-forged body machined to ANSI B16.5 flange dimensions.
  • Configurations: Two ball valves in line with needle vent (D Type), three needle valves (N Type), three ball valves in line (F Type), two balls in line (A Type).
  • End Connections: Flange to flange, or single flange and screwed. Screwed options include NPT, BSP parallel (BS2779-1986), BSP taper (BS21-1985), butt weld with 4" extensions, socket weld with 4" extensions, and twin ferrule compression fitting.
  • Ball Bore Sizes: 10mm (Cv 6.3), 14mm (Cv 11.7) and 20mm (Cv 27.9).
  • Flange Range: 1/2" to 3" NB, Classes 150 to 2500lb, RF / RTJ / SRF faces. API 5K and API 10K also covered.
  • Probe: Up to 24" length, standard material 316 stainless steel.
  • Pressure & Temperature: Maximum flange rating ASME Class 2500, maximum temperature 240°C per the D and F type product data sheet.
  • Materials: Carbon steel (ASTM A350 LF2), stainless steel (ASTM A182 F316), Duplex (A182 F51 / UNS S31803), Super Duplex (UNS S32760), Monel 400, Ferralium 255.

Injection DBB valves carry an inlet one-way check valve. The check valve opens during chemical injection and closes normally to stop process fluid outflow. The injection probe extends from the flange face into the centre of the process stream so the chemical is delivered into the correct point of the flow.

  • Configurations: Two ball valves in line with needle vent (D Type), three needle valves (N Type), three ball valves in line (F Type). Bolted construction designs also available.
  • Check Valve Type: Poppet type spring return with Viton soft seat as standard.
  • Check Valve Bore & Cv: 10mm (Cv 2.0), 12mm (Cv 4.6), 16mm (Cv 7.2). Flange-to-flange styles of 6mm (Cv 2.0) and 10mm (Cv 2.0, max 120°C) also available.
  • Methanol Service: Kalrez O-ring material on the check valve seat.
  • Injection Nozzle: Standard 0.125" (3 mm) diameter orifice. Swirl pattern spray nozzles available for wider dispersion of the media.
  • Probe: Up to 24" length, orifice orientation set at assembly relative to the valve handles.
  • Pressure & Temperature: Maximum flange rating ASME Class 2500, maximum temperature 240°C.
  • Without Check Valve: We also supply Injection DBB without the inlet check valve as a standard build option. The N Type DBB with injection facility is available on request.
  • Materials & Options: Same material range as the sampling DBB, with NACE and Firesafe sub-options.

Oliver Barstock Double Block & Bleed Variants

Barstock-bodied variants suit compact installations where space and weight matter most. These are machined from solid bar rather than forging. Within the barstock family, the L and T types are specifically suited to sampling and chemical injection on instrument take-offs, while the IN and ID types are standard instrument double block and bleed valves.

  • L Type: Three ball valves in oblique pattern barstock body, suitable for sampling, chemical injection and DBB. Surface mounting and cam interlock options available.
  • T Type: Barstock body with central T-ported ball valve for compact DBB, sampling or chemical injection. Surface mounting and cam interlock options available.
  • IN Type: Barstock body with three needle pattern valves arranged for double block and bleed. Single 5.4 mm bore with metal-to-metal seated needle valves. Standard maximum pressure 6,000 psi, standard maximum temperature 240°C, with 10,000 psi and 540°C available as options. Bottom vent is standard, side vent on request.
  • ID Type: Barstock body with ball pattern primary and secondary isolation and needle pattern vent. Bore sizes 10mm, 14mm and 20mm.
  • Maximum Working Pressure: 6,000 psi standard across the L, T, IN and ID barstock types, with 10,000 psi available as an option.
  • Maximum Temperature: L and T types (all-ball) 200°C standard, up to 240°C with PEEK seats; ID type 200°C with 10 mm bore (PTFE/KEL-F seats) and 240°C with 14 mm or 20 mm bore (PEEK seats); IN type (all-needle) 240°C standard, extending to 540°C with the graphite gland seal option.

Oliver Injection & Sampling Valves - Sourcing and Technical Questions, Answered

  • The maximum pressure rating is ASME Class 2500 flange class with a maximum operating temperature of 240°C on the D and F type product data sheets. The standard ball valves used in the assembly carry a 6,000 psi working pressure.

  • The probe length can be machined up to a maximum of 24 inches to suit the position of the injection or sample orifice inside your line. We also set the orifice orientation at assembly relative to the valve handles.

  • The standard injection nozzle orifice size is 0.125 inch (3 mm) diameter. Swirl pattern spray nozzles are available where wider dispersion of the injected media is needed.

  • For methanol injection service, the check valve uses a Kalrez O-ring seat in place of the standard Viton soft seat. The body material is still selected from the standard range to match the process.

  • The standard probe material is 316 stainless steel. We can specify other materials to match the body alloy where corrosive service requires it.

  • The sampling DBB takes media out of the line through a sample probe with two isolation valves and a vent. The injection DBB pushes media into the line through an inlet one-way check valve that opens for injection and closes to stop process fluid escaping back.

  • Yes, we supply Oliver Injection DBB valves without the inlet check valve as a build option. The N Type with injection facility is also available if you prefer three needle valves over the ball configuration.

  • Flange sizes run from 1/2" to 3" NB in classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500lb. Flange faces cover raised face spiral finish (RF), ring type joint (RTJ) and smooth raised face (SRF). API 5K and API 10K are also covered.
