These systems recover liquid samples and empty (liquefied) gas cylinders inside a closed loop, so no spillage or volatile vapour reaches the operator or the lab. We stock the Sample Recovery System (SRS / I1) and the Cylinder Emptying System (CES / J1) at our Mumbai warehouse, both built in SS 316 or SS 316L. DOPAK Sample Recovery System (SRS / I1)

The SRS recovers a liquid sample from a sealed sample bottle. Nitrogen drives the liquid out through a concentric needle assembly to the process-out connection, then cleans the needle, sleeve and sample bottle.

  • Material: Stainless Steel 316 or 316L.
  • Sleeve: 60 cc sleeve with bottle retaining clip and thumb screw.
  • Needle Assembly: Single-piece VTO concentric needle assembly with vent to outlet, 1/4" FNPT. Process/vent needle ID: 1.35 / 3.00 mm.
  • Valve: Three-way ball valve type H7165, PTFE seats.
  • Pressure Range: 34 bar at 20°C (493 psig at 70°F).
  • Temperature Range: -40 to +177°C (-40 to +350°F).
  • Operation: Manual, single handle, four positions: 0-off, 1-recovery, 2-vent, 3-off.
  • Connections: 1/4" FNPT.

DOPAK Cylinder Emptying System (CES / J1)

The CES empties a 500 cm³ cylinder of (liquefied) gas without venting product to the atmosphere. A nitrogen purge needle valve and a drain/analyse three-way ball valve let the operator route the cylinder contents to an analyser, drain the line, then depressurise the quick-connect couplings.

  • Material: Stainless Steel 316 or 316L.
  • Cylinder Size: 500 cm³.
  • N2 Purge Valve: Needle valve with PFA seats. Pressure 103 bar at 20°C (1500 psig at 70°F). Temperature -54 to +232°C (-65 to +450°F).
  • Drain/Analyse Valve: Three-way ball valve type W83, PTFE seats with FKM A O-rings. Pressure 103 bar at 20°C (1500 psig at 70°F). Temperature -17 to +232°C (0 to +450°F).
  • Operation: Manual, single handle, four positions: 0-off, 1-analyse, 2-drain, 3-off.
  • Connections: Quick-connect couplings to the cylinder. 1/4" FNPT to drain/analyse line. 1/4" FNPT to purge line.
  • Features: Closed emptying with no spillage, depressurisation of the quick-connect couplings.
  • Applications: Plant laboratories, (liquefied) gas sample cylinder emptying.

DOPAK Sample Handling Systems: Sourcing and Technical Questions, Answered

  • The SRS recovers a liquid sample from a 60 cc sample bottle, and the CES empties a 500 cm³ cylinder of (liquefied) gas. Both are closed-loop, nitrogen-purged, single-handle units, but they target different sample formats.

  • The SRS valve is rated 34 bar / 493 psig at 20°C, across -40 to +177°C. The CES valves are rated 103 bar / 1500 psig at 20°C, with -54 to +232°C on the N2 purge needle valve and -17 to +232°C on the drain/analyse ball valve.

  • Both the SRS and the CES are built from Stainless Steel 316 or SS 316L. Exotic materials are also available for aggressive media.

  • The SRS sleeve holds 60 cc of liquid sample. The CES cylinder holds 500 cm³ of (liquefied) gas. Larger or smaller sample sizes are listed as an option on both.

  • The nitrogen purge drives the liquid (SRS) or gas (CES) out of the bottle or cylinder under pressure, then cleans the needle assembly, sleeve and lines before the next sample. This keeps the recovery, or emptying step, closed and prevents volatile product from reaching the operator or the atmosphere.

  • The standard process connection is 1/4" FNPT on the SRS outlet and on the CES drain/analyse and purge lines. The CES couples to the gas cylinder through quick-connect couplings.

  • Yes. The SRS is offered with a pipe stand, enclosure and mounting brackets. The CES is offered with an enclosure, mounting brackets and a custom-made frame for non-standard lab layouts.

  • The SRS is designed for liquid samples taken into a septum-sealed sample bottle and returned to the process line. The CES is designed for (liquefied) gas held in a 500 cm³ sample cylinder, routed to an analyser and then drained, both within a closed loop.
