DOPAK Closed Loop Sampling Systems: Sourcing and Technical Questions, Answered

  • A DOPAK closed-loop sampling system takes a process sample without exposing the operator to the product or releasing vapour to the atmosphere. The sample flows from the process line, reactor, or tank straight into a sealed bottle or cylinder.

  • The DOPAK series for viscous liquids and slurries is the DPJ and DPT. The DPJ uses piston valves with a purged outlet, and the DPT uses inline valves with a PFA-lined option for corrosive media.

  • Up to 8 bars. For pressures above 8 bar, the DPJ, S23, and S32 series are the correct choice.

  • Use a sample bottle for media with vapour pressure up to 0.7 bar at ambient temperature, and a cylinder for vapour pressures above 0.7 bar. The bottle is sealed with a cap and a septum; the cylinder has needle valves and quick-connect couplings at both ends.

  • Up to 650°C, on the DPJ series. The S23 series also offers a high-temperature variant (D6) for hot process streams.

  • Yes. The DPJ and S32 series cover vacuum and below-atmospheric service, and the S32 is built specifically for top-of-reactor and reactor process line sampling with externally coupled valves.
